Figurine of The London Taxi
AED 1,800
the Story
The sky over London was a typical gray when light raindrops began to fall over Kensington. Within minutes, the drizzle had turned into a torrential downpour. “Georges, my dear, we must take a taxi before Dickens gets soaked,” Margaret urged, gently stroking her dog. “Margaret, my dear, that won’t be easy in this weather… Ah, wait! Here comes one now!” Georges exclaimed, waving down a black cab. The driver, spotting them too late, hit a pothole, sending a spray of water over the couple. Georges, ever the gentleman, opened the door and let Margaret and Dickens climb in, all thoroughly drenched. “Where to, then?” the taxi driver asked. “The British Museum, please,” Georges replied with unwavering composure, despite the water trickling down his face. “Margaret, my dear, they have a marvelous Turner exhibition—fitting, given this tempestuous weather,” he added with a stoic smile, as they drove off, wet but undeterred.
