Roberta Khouri

Roberta Khouri is a Dubai-based multidisciplinary artist and the founder of r|k studio, recognized for her contemporary ceramic art, sculptural installations, and material-driven artistic practice. Working across ceramics, imprint-making, and experimental surface techniques, her work explores the connection between nature, memory, movement, and material transformation.
Inspired by the coastal landscapes of the UAE and influenced by the traditional Japanese art of Gyotaku, Khouri creates tactile contemporary artworks that preserve the delicate traces of marine life through clay, layered textures, and organic forms. Her artistic language combines raw natural elements with refined contemporary finishes, resulting in sculptural ceramic pieces that feel both modern and deeply rooted in the natural world.
Through high-fire stoneware, porcelain, and experimental glazing techniques, Khouri investigates themes of erosion, fossilization, marine textures, and the imprint of living forms. Her evolving body of work includes collectible ceramic sculptures, contemporary wall pieces, and large-scale art installations that merge craftsmanship with contemporary artistic expression.
Known for her focus on texture, storytelling, and material experimentation, Khouri’s work reflects a strong dialogue between art, nature, and place. Her contemporary ceramic artworks have been exhibited across the Middle East through collaborations with regional galleries, cultural platforms, hospitality spaces, and design-focused exhibitions.
Today, Roberta Khouri continues to expand her artistic practice through ongoing material research, exploring innovative techniques in sculpture, ceramics, and contemporary mixed-media art inspired by the landscapes and marine environments of the UAE.
