Calligraphic Eclipse

the Story

Calligraphic Eclipse is a sculptural dialogue between light, shadow, and the lyrical rhythm of Arabic script. Hand-crafted in deep black stoneware, the circular form is intentionally interrupted by a carved void, an eclipse of form and meaning. Resting above it is a small spherical element, echoing the celestial moment when alignment creates both darkness and illumination.

Flowing across the surface, etched calligraphic lines evoke the fluidity of language, memory, and identity. Their organic movement contrasts beautifully with the geometric precision of the circle, symbolizing the meeting point between emotion and structure, the spiritual and the earthly.

The texture shifts from smooth to rugged, reflecting the layered nature of human experience, what is revealed, what is concealed, and what only emerges in moments of eclipse.

Elegant, contemplative, and deeply rooted in the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy, this sculpture stands as a metaphor for transition, introspection, and the hidden beauty found in shadowed moments.
