Figurine of The Saxophone Player
AED 850
the Story
In a smoky nightclub, where the air was thick with vapors of cheap alcohol and the patrons indulged in whisky and dubious drinks, the atmosphere was far from glamorous. Scantily clad women danced while the crowd, intoxicated by the night’s distractions, paid little attention to anything else. After “Rita the Savage” finished her striptease, the shy musician Jack Sax stepped onto the makeshift stage. With hope in his heart, he laid out CDs of his own music, hoping to sell a few. As he played his saxophone, the audience hardly noticed. Amidst the clinking of glasses and rich laughter, one spectator even gestured for Jack to lower the volume so he could hear the flirtatious whispers of the woman on his lap. After his fifth song, with no CDs sold and little acknowledgment, Jack packed up his sax and moved on, ready to try his luck at the next club.
