Yoyo Ciliberti’s doctor warned him that his couch-potato ways would catch up with him. But Yoyo wasn’t interested in high-intensity sports like rugby, boxing, or basketball—too dangerous, too scary, and too tall, respectively. So, he found the perfect sport where you could sit: cycling. He geared up with the best fixie bike, complete with coaster brakes that stop when you pedal backward. Feeling confident, he tackled the steepest cobblestone street in the village. Ten meters into his ride, Yoyo realized that stopping with his legs wasn’t as easy as it seemed. The 400 meters downhill were the most terrifying seconds of his life, ending in a very painful lesson. For two months, Yoyo had to sit on a feather cushion, and soon after, he sold his bike. He’s now a proud chess player…while standing.
