Figurine of a Man Flirting with a Woman at the Bois de Boulogne Paris
AED 1,100
the Story
It was a warm afternoon—ideal for a game of pétanque. Marcel Dupont meticulously polished his pétanque balls to a shine and, with Sandokan the old family bulldog in tow, headed to the Bois de Boulogne. He found a bench and settled down, waiting for his friends. As he dozed off, a sudden deep gasp startled him.
Turning his head, he saw a well-dressed woman of a certain age, clutching a book to her chest, her eyes half-closed, repeatedly murmuring, “C’est l’amour, c’est l’amour.” When she noticed Marcel watching her, she nervously smiled, batted her eyes, and let out a long sigh. Marcel, however, was unfazed. He raised his eyes to the sky, shook his head, and with a deep sigh of his own, spit-shined his pétanque balls once more. His friends were certainly taking their time.
