Save Thelma and Louise by Emilie Haddad

AED 15,000

the Story
Save Thelma and Louise is part of a series of paintings Emilie created that stemmed from her love for movies and graphic shots.
Emilie chose a scene from a movie and added a twist to it, her own take on it.
The shot she chose is the last shot of the film in which Thelma and Louise were saved by the balloons that she added.
It’s an ironic take on the Disney “happy endings” movies that generations have been brainwashed with.
In reality this movie is a tragedy, just like people’s lives, and Emilie wanted to turn a blind eye on that by adding some innocent colorful balloons that eventually carry the car above the Grand Canyon indicating that everything will be ok.
The frame format is custom made at 16×9 which is a movie screen format to immerse the “viewer” further.
