Kharouf – Acrylic on Canvas
AED 22,000
the Story
In her signature playful yet sharp visual language, Micheline Nohra presents “Kharouf”, a satirical look at conformity, identity, and the absurdities of social interaction. The Arabic word “خروف” (meaning “sheep”) becomes the central metaphor, as one of the poker players in this scene is depicted with the head of a sheep, calmly blending into the group as if nothing is out of place.
With bold outlines, exaggerated forms, and a pop of humor, the artwork pokes fun at the idea of “following the herd”. Is the sheep the only one truly being itself? or the only one pretending to fit in?
